The Mini Mobile Farm can grow and store fresh produce for local markets, restaurants and residents alike.

As Beijing's population continues to grow, there is an ever growing need to bring localized farming into the city. By transforming an existing cargo tricycle into a mini mobile farm, produce can be delivered much easier throughout the inner city neighborhoods of Beijing.

The Mini Mobile Farm can grow and store fresh produce for local markets, restaurants and residents alike. The idea is to bring the local community together via this mobile meeting point, as well as to raise awareness about the importance of producing and consuming both locally and organically. All the while, making an effort to reduce emissions pollution and prevent the unnecessary waste of energy.

The cargo tricycle is a very important mode of transportation for much of the working and lower class in Beijing. It is used to carry almost everything and anything, from trash and scrap materials to people and animals. We became fascinated by the amount of material that can be placed upon these tricycles and the space that is actualized with such a small footprint.

Visualizing this space conceptually, we wanted to create something that could become beneficial not only for the individual tricycle rider, but a larger group of people and communities as well.
